Gift-giving is one of the only social rituals where everyone agrees to lie to each other.
GiftSnitch is the polite way out. Build a wishlist, share the link, and let your family give you things you'll actually use.
Why we built it
Three years in a row, I got the exact same coffee mug. Different cousins. Same mug. "World's Okayest Dad." Funny the first time. Confusing the second. Frankly insulting the third.
And it wasn't just me. My kids were comparing piles on Christmas morning like tiny IRS agents. My spouse and I were duplicating Lego sets because the group chat was already 200 messages deep about what time dinner started. Grandma was buying the same chapter book Aunt Linda had already wrapped. Everyone meant well. Everyone got it slightly wrong.
So we built GiftSnitch. One place where everyone says what they want, claims what they're buying, and skips the polite-smile tax that every family pays in December.
It turns out — and this is the wild part — when you tell people what you want, they get it for you. Every time. We are sharing it with families who'd rather get the right gift than another mug.
What GiftSnitch does
Wishlists That Work
Like a Google Doc, but for not getting another candle. Add what you want, share a link, done.
Claim Before You Buy
Grandma claims the LEGO set. Aunt Linda sees it's claimed and picks something else. Two-tree pileups, eliminated.
Ideas When You're Stuck
Blank-stare-at-the-mall syndrome? Get gift ideas tuned to age, interests, and budget — in seconds, not store laps.
No More Group-Chat Forensics
Both parents see the same lists. So do the grandparents. So does the cousin who lives three states away.
